Hello Raw Milk Enthusiasts,
Thank you for your patience as we share this much-overdue update on raw milk availability!
The Department of Agriculture published the proposed raw milk regulations for public comment on March 1. Written comments are currently being accepted, and a public hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, March 25, at 9:30 AM at the Delaware Department of Agriculture (2320 S. DuPont Hwy, Dover). If you're interested in advocating for raw milk, you're more than welcome to join me at the hearing. The public comment period will close on April 11.
If no significant changes to the proposed regulations are required, permit applications will begin being accepted on May 11. My hope is to complete the permitting process and start selling raw milk for human consumption by June.
That said, there are concerns that Senator Stephanie Hansen may file a bill to pause or rescind the legalization of raw milk due to concerns about bird flu. If such a bill is introduced, I’ll reach out again with ways you can help fight it.
We’re thrilled to announce the launch of Raw Pet Milk Sales, starting Saturday, March 15! This raw cow’s milk comes directly from our dairy and is legally registered for pet consumption only—not for human consumption. Please note: If you explicitly indicate that the purchase is for you or your family, we cannot sell it to you.
We recognize the value your pets bring to your family and are committed to high standards. Our milk undergoes rigorous weekly testing in our on-farm lab, including bacterial counts (standard plate count) and coliform counts, ensuring it meets post-pasteurized standards in that regard. Additionally, the milk is rapidly chilled to below 40°F within 40 minutes to ensure optimal quality and shelf life.
